Data Imports

PURPOSE:

Data imports are when you want to manually bring in information from a site other than Agemni.  

Below are the manual imports we currently have available (note: the items you can import for each Company/Distributor will vary):

  • COMMISSIONS
    • All Systems
    • Cell Star
    • CVS Systems NOTE that CVS Commissions are brought to you via FTP automatically
    • DOW Electronics
    • EchoStar
    • Midstate

INSTRUCTIONS:

The first step would:

  1. Involve you going to the applicable Provider's site and exporting the needed information.  (Most companies will export information into an excel file). 
  2. Once the information is exported, you may need to tweak the file to match the template that Agemni has for importing (these templates will be available depending upon which import you're working on).  
  3. Once the file matches the template in Agemni, you will browse for the file and then import according to Step 3

**NOTE**: If a Customers import is run with a certain value in the Provider column, and then run again with another value in the provider column, this may create duplicates of customers.  In other words, customer duplicates may occur if the provider is wrong on the first import attempt, then corrected to another provider, and imported again.  In general, be careful that if you are running any import twice in order to make changes to the original import, that you are aware of this possiblity.  If you are in doubt about the effects of running one of these manual imports twice, please feel free to ask!
